My Music Taupo manager Jason Hose has his Back to the Future T-shirt ready for this Friday.
That's because 1985 The Power of Love hit-makers Huey Lewis and The News will be in-store from 1pm-1.30pm for a special meet and greet ahead of the Taupo Summer Concert on Saturday.
Hose, who is a long time fan of the American rock/pop legends, said he was pretty excited about the group coming to the music shop in Tongariro St.
"We have had New Zealand artists like Tiki Taane and Savage in-store before but we have never had a multi-platinum selling artist who is a global superstar so it's pretty awesome," he said.
He said the reaction from customers on hearing about the visit had been extremely positive.
"I've had people in the store who have said they are going to come back to Taupo just for the visit and others who are going to come to town earlier than they had intended for the concert so it's great," he said.
Hose said he was eager to get his band merchandise signed but was aware of time restraints.
"I'm a fan so I will have all my own stuff there to get signed but obviously if there are a lot of people and we have to get them through in half an hour, they will be given priority," he said.
He was rapt that concert organisers Greenstone Entertainment had approached him about the visit.
"This is a first for them too so hopefully it goes well and they decide to invite the next artist next year as well," he said.

Hose said merchandise will also be available to purchase in store.
The Taupo Summer Concert, which also features Melissa Etheridge and REO Speedwagon, kicks of at 12pm at Riverside Park and Unison Amphitheatre in Redoubt St on Saturday, January 30.
The concert is part of Greenstone Entertainment's annual Summer Concert Tour which toured to Gibbston Valley Winery in Queenstown last Saturday and finishes at Whitianga Waterways Arena on Sunday.
Tickets are available through Ticketek.
