Mountain Heights Lodge has comfortable accommodation options available, including bed and breakfast and self contained motel units if you're wanting to stay in the Mt Ruapehu and Tongariro region. The Lodge is located near Tongariro and Wanganui National Parks and is the perfect location if you wish to explore the mountains and enjoy the many wonderful activities close by. Mountain Heights Lodge is situated for both Whakapapa and Turoa ski areas. The Lodge is about 20 minutes drive from Whakapapa and 45 minutes drive from Turoa.
Bed & breakfast guests have access to a large lounge with a log fire. Our fully equipped self contained motel units are perfect for families. We also have a private hot spa available to all guests to enjoy while soaking up the beautiful surroundings.
Located halfway between Auckland and Wellington, Mountain Heights Lodge is the perfect place to stop and explore Tongariro National Park, a World Heritage Area and New Zealand's first National Park made famous by its many beautiful walks, bike rides and snowsports. Mountain Heights Lodge is situated as a base for tramping the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Shuttles are available in winter and summer so transport for you and a guide can be arranged if necessary and staff will advise you on the walk.
We also have fantastic cycling tracks nearby, petrol station and restaurant within 2km at National Park.
